Ontario has recently emerged as one of the most desired gambling markets by online casinos and game suppliers. This region is highly regarded after the market relaunch in April last year.
Betsson recently said the company was the latest operator/supplier to launch in the autonomous Canadian province. This is after the content aggregator obtained both licenses from the no-nonsense Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. Betsson Group says the licensing aligns with its long-term vision for the Ontario iGaming market.
After the accreditation, the company will debut its comprehensive B2C services, including sports betting and online casino. Betsson says the services will be available in Ontario through its Betsafe brand. In addition, the services will be provided via the innovative Strive Gaming platform, where the company has a 40% share.
The official press release continues that Ontarians will access Betsson's services in the province through the state-of-the-art iPhone apps or their browsers on ot.betsafe.com. In what will be music to players' ears, Betsson Group says the products are localized to offer a North American feel.
Interestingly, the provider license also allows Betsson to offer its sportsbook products to other legal operators in Ontario on a B2B agreement. Both sports betting and online gambling are legal in the province.
According to Pontus Lindwall, Betsson AB's President and CEO, the company is delighted to acquire the permits to provide both B2C and B2B offerings in the regulated gaming market of Ontario. He believes that Betsson stands to benefit from their offerings on both channels, as their selection is highly competitive.
This news comes when the Swedish-based company is enjoying a successful year. During the just concluded EGR Nordics Awards 2023, the judges voted Betsson the winner of six categories. These awards will undoubtedly increase the company's global appeal.
